Are Nike running sneakers worth the price?

Runner’s Question: For running payless shoes $10 sneakers or nike $120+. For $120, I can go through 12 pairs of non-brand sneakers. Is nike really worth the hype? (ie is there a major difference when running with cheap vs nike sneakers?)

no they jack up the price cause its a “nike shoe” you should get a good running shoe at about $60
You don’t have to buy the newest shoes. Those are always the most expensive. But I would make sure I was buying the correct shoe for me. Personally I have a high arch, i’m 6’4″ and weigh 230 pounds. I need a shoe with enough cushoning that supports my size and is right for my foot shape.
If you’re serious about running, get fitted for the proper shoes.

There is a huge difference between true running shoes, and discount shoes found at Payless.
Running shoes are engineered to minimize damage to your joints from the force you exert. They are designed as laminate sandwiches that are uniquely designed for running. Discount shoes are more for a look, and generally are made of cheap materials.
Nike is just one brand, and not a great one in my opinion. I’ve never been fond of their shoes. I’ve worn Brooks, New Balance and Asics.
You don’t have to spend $120 on running shoes. But, you should go to a running shoe store. Have them watch you run, and measure your feet.
They’ll help you choose a shoe that suits your foot strike, and motion tendencies. Some people pronate, other supinate, etc.
You can get a perfectly fine shoe for $50-70… even less if you shop on-line retailers. You can get older models of running shoes for a fraction of their original cost.
Think of shoes like shocks/tires for your car. Cheap will cause you pain down the road.
Not to me, there are other major brands that make quality shoes for sale at a lower price.
Do not buy cheap shoes at payless, go to a running store and try on several shoes. Get a pair that fits and feels good.
It is not the price that is the real problem the cheap shoes will hurt your feet and legs.
You need to remember your feet are your foundation and if you don’t take care of them you will not be running.
from my personal experience nike is not as good as they claim to be for running. i would not recomend the payless only because you need your shoes to absorb shock, try Asics you can get a pair for about $70 at academy
you should try using aesics.. i think that for running they are way better and last longer… i wont go through a pair in one cross country season so they are pretty good
